Welcome to NEXT!
In NEXT!, I will share occasional dispatches from the frontlines about the future work, gender dynamics, workplace culture, career reinventions, the media, and more.
In a sense, we are all trying to find our “next.” The world has been rocked by profound disruptions in recent years. In the wake of the pandemic, people have reprioritized their lives and rethought their relationship to their jobs. Basic assumptions are being challenged and discarded. How are career paths different today than before the pandemic? How do expectations differ among generations? How much time are we expected to work on the premises versus remotely? What is the current state of DEI? How might generative artificial intelligence change our jobs? How do we encourage innovation?
I’ll alert you to articles, books & podcasts of interest on these topics and others, from my own reporting and that of others.
A little about me… I’m a veteran journalist and author. I’ve served as Editor-in-Chief of USA Today, USA Today Network, Conde Nast Portfolio magazine, and The Wall Street Journal Weekend. My bestselling books include NEXT! The Power of Reinvention in Life and Work, and That’s What She Said. I’m also a Yale journalism lecturer and you can see my on CNBC, where I’m a contributor. I’m a mom of two, and I finally learned how to cook during the pandemic.
Suggestions and feedback always welcome!
